You can register at any time during your pregnancy. However, for your own peace of mind we recommend that you register early to receive and have on hand your collection kit.

Pack
Take your collection kit with you to the hospital and ensure that your health care provider is made aware of your desire to bank your baby’s cord blood and Peristem™ stem cells. The collection process is simple, painless, risk free and takes only a few minutes to complete.

Cord blood collection: After your baby is born the umbilical cord is clamped and the cord blood is collected into the blood collection bag.

Peristem™ collection: After birth, the umbilical cord is cleaned and cut to provide the maximum length of umbilical cord tissue. The cord is placed in a bottle coated with antibiotic powder, the provided nutrient solution is added and the bottle is sealed.

Cord blood and cord tissue can be collected safely from either vaginal or caesarean section deliveries.

Once you have delivered, you will need to call the courier of your choice to pick up the sample and courier it back to CReATe laboratory. CReATe works with 3 highly reliable medical couriers that we recommend to use. They are available 24/7. Samples are fully tracked. We also offer parents the option to drop off their cord specimens if they wish.

Store
Once transported to CReATe’s laboratory, the cord blood stem cells are isolated using a “closed processing” system and are cryopreserved (frozen) in our BioArchive® robotic storage system. Your precious cord blood and Peristem™ stem cells are now safe and secure with CReATe.
